Curtis and Steph invited us to go on a hike one Saturday and Dan was working, but Halle, Mom and I took them up on their offer. We planned on a two mile loop through Hulls Gulch in the foot hills, but ended up doing a six mile loop. It wasn't bad at all and it was more beautiful than I thought it would be, being the foothills and all. Curtis carried Halle in the Bjorn which was very helpful to me, and I think Hal had a great time. After the hike we drove down to Camels Back Park and had a wonderful picnic. As I was looking at these pictures and thinking about all of the fun things that we do all of the time, I was reminded of a quote from our neighbor and friend Monte, he said "You have got to be crazy to be bored in this world!" He is right and I am making that a goal in my life and plan on passing that along to my kids.

Oh Baby, Halle is 1!!!

we had a wonderful birthday bash for hal, with a whole bunch of family! we hung out in the back yard, the kids jumped in the bounce house and on the trampoline while the adults played cornhole and ate... since that is what we are best at. her birthday theme was flowers and my cousin made halles cake following the theme and it was adorable. i am so glad that halle got into the cake eating part, it made my whole year, she loved it (and she totally raked in the presents, it is humbling to see how kind and thoughtful are, thanks everyone). it didn't take me long to realize that all of the pressure in on the parent who gets to help the one year old open the presents, halle can open the first present and just play with that the whole time.... she opened a phone right away and attached herself to it. she is so good at putting the phone on her shoulder and saying hi!

Hal and Mom

I am so glad that Halle loves water, loves, splish splashing, loves blowing bubbles and would jump right in all by herself if I would let her. Hal and I got to enjoy some time at Roaring Springs earlier this summer and her favorite thing was the Lazy River. She would sit up on the tube, hold on to the handles and kick her legs. I love seeing her grow up everyday.

Our Trip Up North

Up at Hayden Lake at Uncle Randy and Aunt Ginas house, we spent almost a week hanging out, golfing, boating and having a great time. This was Halle's first boating experience and she had a blast, especially with my 3 year old cousing Lizzy. Hal hated when I had to put her life jacket on, but once the boat gets going and she gets to watch the crazy tube rides she cheered right up. Not only did Hal ride on the boat she got behind it and was able to take a couple of tube rides with her mommy. As the wind was blowing in her hair she let out some little screams of joy and I really think she enjoyed it as much as I did for her. This is just another Halle adventure. Before we arrived in Hayden Dan, Halle and I flew up to Seattle to visit my cousin Karissa and her tiny baby at the hospital. Ellie was born 1 lb 4.5 oz and now she is now 5lb and just now got to go home after three months of living at the hospital. What a beautiful miracle she is and I was so happy that we got to see her and hold her while we were there. Karissa is an amazing mother and I am so happy that they get to be HOME!

The Fourth

This year instead of going to the Melba Fireworks show (which is snazzy) we had a wonderful dinner and dessert at my Aunt Tricia's house, played a Cornhole tournament and then with Kyle and Katie we went and watched the downtown fireworks, and they were beautiful as well (but no Great Balls of Fire there). Halle was a doll all day long and I wish I would have had my camera while watching the firework show because she had some big hoop dangly glow in the dark earings on and looked so stinking cute. She ooooohed and aaawwweed at the fireworks with the rest of us and didn't care when they went Kaboom!!! We are grateful to live in this country and enjoy all that we get to do.

Little Miss Attitude

My sweet, sweet daughter is growing up so fast and developing her "own little personality". She actually swats away at things she doesn't want, she throws things and when she doesn't get her way or we aren't feeding her fast enough she clenches her fists together and gives a scream. And of course right now all she wants is "mom mom mommmma", so she will throw a little fit until I pick her up. But she is just so darn cute.... so what is a mom to do? Shout out to all of those Little Miss Attitudes out there!
