Jovie's 1st Dance Party

In no particular order, some highlights from tinies 1st Birthday Party. In honor of her wiggle hips we decided to have a Dance party! Cade borrowed some colorful strobe lights from his teacher and hooked us up with some sweet speakers :) I know she is only 1, but its Cade passion, so heck yeah! My first ever attempt at a cake not shaped like a rectangle, and Boston Cream Pie nonetheless. We ordered the Monster Pizza, and really had no idea how monster huge they really were, there was plenty to go around. Our wonderfully supportive family was there, as always, what would we do without them? But we also got to have some friends from out of town join in on the fun, and Jayden sure knows how to party "Here you go Babe!" Thanks Jayden! Jovie was happy, so I was happy! I love you beautiful!

Rain Rain Don't Go Away!

Miss Halle doesn't wish rain to go away she sings for it to stay, because she LOVES slipping on those adorable rain boots and wandering off to find the biggest puddle she can find, even if its not a ton of rain. I love that about Halle, she gets so excited and loves to have fun! (and who wouldn't have fun wearing those sweet boots :))

what I spend a lot of my time doing...

...but I L.O.V.E. (almost) every minute of it.
There isn't anything better than seeing such beautiful smiles on my girlies faces!

One Hot Mama

I'm betting my wife put everyone else to shame this month on their workouts. She made it to the gym almost everyday but Sundays. Well I've got some bad news and need to apologize to Ryan. My brothers have a multi day float trip every year in May and I can finally go with my days being off this year the only problem is the date covers the Potato Run Marathon we were going to run together. I think I will have to run the course on a non race day. Sorry to flake on you Ryan but that is the only weekend the float can take place for the organizers. Kelli still plans to rock the half marathon.

better late than never....DC Highlight

Our back east trip, just Dano and I, was more than a blast but I have got to admit that the HIGHLIGHT was undoubtedly, no question, hands down, the Boise State vs. Virginia Tech football game. A game that was supposedly at a neutral sight, a game that was a roller coaster ride-one minute we are feeling pretty confident and then next we are biting our fingernails and saying our prayers- a game where we didn't care how much the chicken strips and milkshake cost, a game that caused us to lose our voices for the next three days, a game that ended in bliss and gave us so much pride and a game that opened the gates for a possible chance at the National Championship in college football! It was a great day to to a Bronco, followed by another couple of days that was great to be a Bronco as we cruised around DC proudly wearing our blue and orange, maybe slightly rubbing it in, but mostly just PROUD!

Salad and a 2 year old

As we are cruising around the grocery store:

Mom: Hal, what would you like for dinner tonight babe?
Hal: (as she taps the finger on her chin) hmmmm, (pause) taco salad!

Salad seems to be this girls go to meal, she LOVES salad, especially with craisins in it. Of all the food out there you would think a 2 year old would pick something different. I am not complaining, I actually love it. When I heard about Jerry Seinfeld's wives cook book called Deceptively Delicious, I thought that I had to have it. But I actually have a child who loves her vegetables (for now anyway) so I don't need to hide pureed veggies in her chicken nuggets. Thanks Hal for making my life that much easier.

what goes up must come down

This past June Dano and one of his co-workers (it was supposed to be 8 other guys...and 2 guys that rode their bikes PART of the way) ran the race route of Robie Creek, which is known to be the toughest 1/2 marathon in the northwest, due to its mountainous terrain. The first eight miles of the race is uphill, then 5 miles back down the other side. Halle, Jovie and I were the support vehicle; aka water girls. This was Dano's first 1/2 marathon and he finished in a little over 2 hours. What a stud! It was the farthest he had ever run straight. During his training he never did more than 7 miles at one time. After the race he said once he hit the top and started the downhill he was just in auto pilot. We were very proud of him and were glad it was him running and not us (by us I mean me).
