One of the Reasons Why I Love Dano

Today Halle, out of the blue, decides that she wants to go swimming and now. I tried explaining to her that maybe we could go tomorrow but we can't go swimming on Sunday. Of course she was devastated and balling. I told her to call her Dad and ask if they could go swimming sometime soon (and to see if he could talk her out of wanting to go right that second). Through their conversation she was very emotional until she heard her Daddy say, "Go get your suit on and be ready for when I get home from work." Instantly she smiles and says, "I go get ready." So Halle ran up the stairs, put a suit on and patiently waited for her Daddy to get home. As soon as Dano walked through those doors he hugged Halle, ran upstairs and got his suit on and they went "swimming" in our bath tub for the next half an hour. He is my hero and that is just ONE of the reasons why I love him.

Fiesta Time

It's always a party for us whenever the Broncos play but we have come to love each time the party is Fiesta style. Kelli's mom did a great job of setting the mood. She has a full set of these fiesta plates and bowls filled with every mexican food you can think of, a sombrero with candy in the brim from the pinata of a frog (for Horned Frog) that we busted open. Our little girls are the cutest little Bronco Babes around. Once again way to go BRONCOS!!!!!!!

Hello Jovie

Beautiful Jovie Marie came into the world via C-section on 12-21-09 (see that Quinn) at 8:27 pm. She was 9 lbs 2 oz. and 22 in. long. Kelli was 6 days over due and was induced at 7:00 in the morning starting at a 4 (dilation). Things progressed slowly and she got to a 7 by 5 pm but by 8pm and a few episodes of a failing epidural she was only to an 8. The doctors decided to rush her into surgery for a C-section due to possible fit problems (small pelvis and large baby) and baby under stress . They decided to put Kelli all the way under and wouldn't let anyone else in the room. Dan was very sad and nervous not to be by their sides. All went well though and both Kel and Jov are doing great.

Cookie Party

As the snow falls and the tree is up and decorated we are starting to feel pretty festive. And to top the day off we get invited to a Cookie Party family home evening at Dave and Gina's house. At Family Home Evening we talked about the true meaning of Christmas, which was good news to Dan so he could re-teach Halle that Christmas is Jesus' birthday and not Santas.

Lacey brought over some yummy sugar cookies and the girls had a great time frosting and licking them.

Robbie-Kate shared the cutest little apron with Hal as they made their gingerbread "boys".
It makes me so happy to see Halle so happy around her family all of the time. What a blessing.

Happy Boo Day

Daddy had to work again this Halloween but Halle and I joined up with some cousins and Trick-or-Treated like crazy. Halle had the choice of being a pirate or a fairy princess (since I already had those costumes made) and for the last few months she insisted on fairy princess, so as you wish! She caught on to the concept of Trick-or-Treating this year and the only hesitation was the houses that were decorated real scary. We had a ton of fun, after Trick-or-Treating we went to Dave and Ginas house and scarfed down some delicious homemade doughnuts! Which is a very welcome tradition of my sister-in-law Gina!

I hadn't been to a ward party since we moved into our house but my mom joined with me for the Trunk-or-Treat party and boy oh boy was it a hit. There were soooo many people there, sooooo many yummy soups and pies and of course a parking lot full of super cute trunks and kids! (Thanks Mom I couldn't have made it through the night without you) My favorite trunk was Brother Picanco sitting in a huge (fake) bowl of pasta sauce and he was decorated as spaghetti and meatballs. And Sister Picanco wore a shirt with the Prego Label on it... and this was her way of announcing that she was pregnant! How cute!

Mr. Pumpkin Carver

Dano is definitely our go to guy for pumpkin carving contests, this Duke Blue Devil Carving was this years entry for our ward party, it didn't win but I am pretty sure it was all little kids that voted (besides my mom and i) and they all must have been TarHeel fans. I wish had a picture of it lit up but it still looks great.

This one was from last year....Dano did the Bronco pumpkins... and the witch pumpkin is my one and only good carving that I have ever done. They others are from Curtis and Steph, I think everyone's looks fantastic.
Three years ago Dano carved ME turning a double play. Carving pumpkins will always be a tradition at our house. I do have one other picture of Dans carving from four years ago, but I must just have it as a print and not digital... he carved the UVSC Wolverine and it is amazing.
Before we know it Halle will be out-carving Daddy!
