What! What!

Dan and I entered our brackets into two different groups on ESPN.com. The Hardy-Bassett Group and the Wilkins Group...and I guess a victory dance is in order. I got first place in the Wilkins Group and second place in the Hardy-Bassett Group. I wish I could say that it was due to hard work pushing numbers and stats but it was pretty much thanks to some lucky guesses. It is a fun tradition and its always nice to beat Dano at something. (Dan did get a gracious second place in the Wilkins Group). What a great tournament and championship game, it still would have been a good game if Butler won, they are a great team, a great story and have a cool coach..... but since they didn't...
GO DUKE AND GO COACH K!!

I can smell it just looking at the picture

Please tell me that I am not the only one who can eat a whole bag of microwave popcorn solo? I give the credit (or the blame) to my Dad, we used to eat popcorn made on the stove multiple times a week with Kool-aid of course, and I loved it, especially the "old maids" (the half popped kernals). Hopefully popcorn isn't too unhealthy for you cause once I pop I just can't stop.

Jovie Marie and another reason why I love Dano

Its official, Jovie Marie. I am glad Dano didn't pull a fast one on me and change her name while he blessed her this Sunday. The blessing was beautiful and we were supported by so many wonderful family members (in person and I am sure in heart as well). I am so grateful for Dan, his faith, his Priesthood and how great of a Daddy he is.

What do ya know!?

I think that it is so amazing and I can't even comprehend how it all works, but I love it. To this day I have the habit of holding my thumb between my fingers just like little miss Jovie is doing here. She has been doing it since the day she was born. I haven't seen Halle do it for a long time but she used to do it too. Coincindence? Or some sort of scientific definition? Whatever it is I think its awesome. Like Mother Like Daughter.

smiling...really smiling

Jovie sure knows how to melt your heart. She has been giving us the biggest smiles since she was a couple weeks old. I know everyone says that babies only smile when they have gas, but we beg to differ. When she was a few weeks old my sister in law Gina watched Jovie for me while Halle and I went to one of Dan's soccer games. And just a couple of minutes after we left the house Gina called me and said, "I just had to call and tell you that Jovie just gave me the biggest smiles, I mean REAL smiles, she smiled right at me." She couldn't believe that she did that so young. My Mom has said the same thing.

another one?

This past fall during city league football Dano fractured his wedding ring finger and tore the tendon. He had it braced for like six weeks and finally it healed (without surgery) about a week or so before Jovie was born (Dec 21). Well on Monday in his city league basketball game, he is not sure when exactly or how, but he fractured his left hand's middle finger. At first he thought it looked a little crooked so he tried pulling it to straighten it out and he thought that it was just jammed or sprained. But after an hour or two it blew up to double the size and bruised like crazy. He went to the doctor the next day to get it checked out, just in case, and sure enough...fractured, but worse than last time. His doctor thinks it might need wired back together but is sending him to a hand specialist next week to get it checked out. So here he is again all braced and taped up, just a month or so later. Ahhhhhh!
